Terms of use
Last updated : 17 August 2026
1. Purpose
These terms govern access to and use of heycolis.com and the HeyColis mobile application, operated by HeyColis. Any use of the service implies full acceptance of these terms.
2. Description of the service
HeyColis is a platform connecting people wishing to send a parcel ("senders") with people travelling the same route who have spare carrying capacity ("carriers").
HeyColis does not carry out the transport itself and is not a party to the transport contract. It provides a technical environment, carrier identity verification, messaging and shipment tracking. Payment for the transport takes place off-platform, directly between the parties.
3. Registration and account
Registration is open to natural persons of legal age and to duly incorporated legal entities.
Users undertake to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. They are solely responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials.
Carriers must submit a valid identity document and, where applicable, proof of travel. HeyColis may refuse or suspend any account in case of inaccurate information, fraudulent behaviour or breach of these terms.
4. Sender obligations
The sender warrants that they own the parcel contents or are duly authorised to send them; that the declared contents are accurate and complete; that the contents fall into none of the prohibited categories in article 6; and that they comply with the customs rules of both the departure and destination countries. Any false declaration engages the sender's sole liability, including towards the carrier.
5. Carrier obligations
The carrier undertakes to check the contents of each parcel before sealing and to refuse any doubtful parcel; to carry the parcel diligently and hand it to the designated recipient; to comply with baggage allowances and applicable regulations, in particular customs rules; and to report any incident to HeyColis without delay. The carrier acts in their own name and remains responsible for their legal and tax obligations.
6. Prohibited contents
Prohibited on the platform: cash, cheques, bank cards and precious metals; narcotics and illegal substances; weapons, ammunition and explosives; flammable, corrosive or pressurised products and unprotected lithium batteries; counterfeit goods; undeclared merchandise for resale; live animals; unpackaged perishables; medicine without a prescription in the recipient's name. This list is not exhaustive.
7. Price and payment
The transport price is freely set by the carrier and accepted by the sender. Posting listings, receiving offers and messaging are free.
Payment for the transport is settled directly between the sender and the carrier, on the terms they agree between themselves (on handover, on delivery, or in instalments). HeyColis does not collect funds, does not act as a payment service provider and takes no commission on the transaction. It is for the parties to agree in writing, in the platform's messaging, on the amount and timing of payment before the parcel changes hands.
8. Cancellation
The sender may cancel free of charge as long as the parcel has not been handed to the carrier, under the conditions stated in the app. A carrier who cancels an accepted job risks a lower reliability score and, on repetition, account suspension.
9. Liability and claims
As of today, HeyColis offers no insurance cover for the parcels carried. An insurance solution is under consideration; until it is live, no guarantee of that nature may be relied upon. In the event of loss, delay or damage, the sender turns first to the carrier, with whom they are bound by the transport agreement. Users are advised not to entrust items of significant value and to declare the contents and their value honestly. Any incident must be reported to HeyColis within seven days of the scheduled handover date, with supporting evidence and the photographs taken at sealing. HeyColis steps in with the carrier concerned, whose account may be suspended, without that intervention amounting to financial compensation for the loss.
10. Platform liability
HeyColis has a best-efforts obligation regarding the operation of the service. It cannot be held liable for non-performance or poor performance of the transport, which falls within the sender–carrier relationship, nor for the consequences of an inaccurate declaration of contents.
11. Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
12. Amendment and termination
HeyColis may amend these terms. Users are informed by any useful means; continued use of the service constitutes acceptance. Users may close their account at any time, subject to completion of shipments in progress.
13. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. Consumers may use a consumer mediator free of charge. Failing agreement, the competent courts will be seized under ordinary rules.
